Detroit Grand Prix parking and transportation options
In the interest of guest safety, and to minimize pedestrian traffic inside the garages, an admission ticket will be required to enter the parking structures located inside the race circuit. These include Center Garage, Franklin Garage, Port Atwater Garage and River East Garage. Fans will be required to have an admission ticket to watch the action from the floors of these parking structures.
The only parking structure within the venue that is available for public parking is the Franklin Garage, located between Franklin Street and Woodbridge. Parking spaces are limited and sold in advance only. A venue admission ticket must be purchased to buy a parking ticket.
- Single-day Franklin Garage parking: Single-day parking costs $75 on Friday, May 29 $100 on Saturday, May 30 and $100 on Sunday, May 31.
- Multi-day Franklin Garage parking: Two-day parking on May 30 and May 31 costs $200. Parking for all three days is $275.
Many surface lots and alternate parking structures located within the downtown Detroit area are available for event parking. Be sure to keep these additional resources in mind:
What to bring to the Grand Prix: insider tips
Much like the race on the track, the Grand Prix can be a marathon to get through if you’re not prepared and comfortable. Here are some items to pack:
- A comfy seat cushion (if you’re sitting in the grandstand)
- A portable cell phone charger
- A sunhat and sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher is recommended)
- Your most comfortable walking/athletic shoes
You may also want to download your digital tickets ahead of time (mobile entry is standard). Cell service may be spotty at times, so keep this track map handy and plan to meet friends and family at a certain location in case you get split up. Expect large crowds, as attendance has topped 150,000 in recent years
