The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Board of Directors is proud to serve the millions of people across the state who count on us. Our directors are member-elected, which keeps us close to what matters most: our members and the Michigan communities where we live and work. For 87 years, Blue Cross has earned trust by being there for our members when it matters — and by adapting as the needs of our state change.
This annual report reflects our theme, Momentum Through Transformation. In 2025, we saw that momentum in practical ways — simplifying how members get help, navigate coverage and use their benefits. It was also a year when many families and employers felt the strain of rising health care costs, making our steady progress even more important. I’m grateful to teams across the company doing this work every day. Their commitment helps make a complex system easier to understand — and more dependable for the people we serve.
Serving more than 5 million members is a responsibility we take personally. Behind every card is someone making decisions for their family, their health and their future. That’s why we stay focused on what members should be able to count on: responsive service and the stability to be here for Michigan year after year with access to high-quality, affordable health care.
Affordability remains one of the biggest sources of stress in health care. In 2025, we heard that clearly from families and businesses. No single organization can solve it alone, but progress is possible through steady, practical work — partnering with others to improve value and protect access to quality care. As a nonprofit mutual health insurance company, Blue Cross reinvests in Michigan, supporting programs that strengthen health and community well-being. That’s part of what makes Blue Cross different, and it reflects the purpose we serve. Better value. Better care.
As our 2025 Annual Report shows, teams across Blue Cross met a demanding environment with focus and resolve, improving service while staying centered on affordability. To our members and customers: thank you for placing your trust in us. We’re proud of what Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan means to this state, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
